Who I am

Hello,


My name is Remo Kurka, and I am a Digital Architect, Web Artist, and long‑time creator of Pan‑African online ecosystems. My work spans more than two decades of digital publishing, tourism development, photography, and community‑driven web projects.


I founded ghana-net.com in the year 2000 — one of the earliest independent online platforms dedicated to Ghana. Today, the site remains active and continues to attract a global audience, reaching a worldwide ranking of approximately 600–800K and generating well over 200,000 page views per day. (as of the main domain, alone) Over the years, the platform has grown into a network of more than 30 subdomains, including radio.ghana-net.com, and has become a trusted resource for travelers, researchers, and the Ghanaian diaspora.


Alongside the English platform, I also operate the German-language equivalent ghana-net.net, which provides cultural, historical, and travel information for German-speaking audiences.


My work extends far beyond a single website. I have built and managed several high‑impact tourism platforms that consistently outperform official government portals in reach, visibility, and engagement. These include:

Through these projects, I have contributed to the global visibility of Ghana’s cultural heritage, including Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, and other UNESCO‑related historical sites.

In addition to my web development work, I am active as a photographer and digital creator, publishing travel, documentary, and cultural photography across multiple platforms. My images and videos have been licensed internationally through agencies such as Alamy (Photo Agency) and Pond5 (Video Agency by Shutter-stock), and I maintain a growing digital photo shop at shop.remokurka.com, offering curated collections and special editions.
